Many of the arts activities in Hendersonville are centered around beautiful and historic Monthaven Mansion. This building is owned and maintained by the City of Hendersonville and staffed by an Executive Director.

Operating within Monthaven Mansion is the non-profit Hendersonville Arts Council. "The Hendersonville Arts Council, chartered in 1975, is a non-profit, community arts service promoting the cultural development of Hendersonville and the surrounding area. Working to expand cultural interest, diversity and opportunity in our homeplace, we preserve our heritage, build cultural resources and integrate the arts in our daily lives. With community partners, like the City, Chamber of Commerce, Creative Photography Club, Hendersonville Community Singers, Lakeshore Quilters Guild, Tsuru Friendship Committee, League of American Pen Women and artists, we build a better place to live. Where the arts... are for everyone!"
The Hendersonville Arts Council is responsible for overall scheduling of Monthaven Mansion. This includes booking times for classes and workshops, and scheduling exhibits. All of the affiliate organizations (listed below) book their shows, workshops and classes through the Hendersonville Arts Council.

Monthaven Art Society is an organization of local artists, many of whom are
painters. Classes and workshops are held within Monthaven Mansion.
Exhibits by this group are scheduled several times during the year.

Creative Photography Club

The Creative Photography Club is a group of people interested in
improving their photography skills and in showcasing their photographs.
Classes and workshops are scheduled on a regular basis, and periodic
exhibits grace the rooms of Monthaven Mansion.

The Hendersonville Community Singers is a group of talented singers
committed to bringing classical choral music to the Hendersonville area.
Their repertoire includes great masterworks, as well as music by
contemporary composers.

Hendersonville High School sponsors a yearly art show and sale. "The
Art Show was formed into the hopes that it will be the principal
fund-raising activity for the Academic Excellence Committee, which is a
committee of parents and faculty of HHS whose principal goal is to continue
academic excellence at Hendersonville High School."
